Asda Shatter top coat

As you can tell from my last blog post I love BarryM's crackle effect polishes. However at £3.99 I cannot justify buying many of the different shades. So when I saw that George at Asda were doing their own version for £2.75 I thought they had to be worth a try.
You use them in the exact same was as the BarryM versions however their effect is in no way as good. The shatter top coat does not separate enough on your nails and just looks awful (in my opinion).
I bought two of these polishes in silver and in gold, I wish I had invested in one of the BarryM nail effects polishes instead.

For the base coat I used Avon's matte effect polish in black. I love this polish it is very effective but it does chip easily.

For the top coat I used the Asda shatter polish in gold.
And that was the end result............rubbish!!!

    I've been searching for ages for a matte black nailpolish so firstly BIG thanks for showcasing this beauty! I'm generally not a fan of crackle effects but this one is kind of cool - I think for a party or something it'd be a real funky look :)

    That matte black looks lovely! I have wanted one for an age, will have to check out Avon! It's a shame about the Asda topcoat though! It kind of reminds me of bone so maybe it'll be good for halloween? xx
